Ming Doucai Enamel Meiping Vase

An early doucai enameled meiping vase: Formed in “tribute” to the fourteenth century style. The lip is decorated with typical scroll work. A necklace and shoulder of stylized lotus petals scroll work surrounds the neck and shoulder decorated. The main panel features two lions and two deers moving on the rock among clouds, the banana tree and flower. The next panel is composed of floral scroll and the foot is finished with stylized lotus petals. The glaze is somewhat thick and uniform, and the cobalt is showing good refinement. A six character mark of Chenghua is written within a double circle on the base. Chenghua period 1465-1487. The condition is excellent: no chip, hairline, crack and free from restoration, please refer to enlargements for details.
